Kindle Farm School

Academics

We have developed a curriculum to meet the needs and encompass the variety of learning styles of our special needs students. Our curriculum conforms to Vermont Department of Education's state-developed standards.  In this way, we are able to ensure that students learn the relevant material that will allow them to transition back to the public sending schools.  Kindle Farm School includes curriculum from the Oak Meadows School and curriculum we have written specifically for our students. We have chosen to work with the Oak Meadows curriculum because it is very experientially based and offers a menu of possible directions to go within each lesson. The hands-on approach has proven very effective with our population of students. Our teachers use the Oak Meadow outline as a scope and sequence, creating activities that teach the intended skills in a way that meets the needs of our diverse learners.  Our teachers also use special education tools and workbooks acquired from a variety of vendors to meet the variety of needs in the classroom.
