The High School Prepares to Feed the Masses
This year Patty Bills and the Culinary Arts Program are feeding the entire Newfane community. That’s about 100 people! This doubles our output and demands new infrastructure. Our facility boasts a health certified kitchen complete with professional cooking range, an industrial type dishwasher, and new refrigerators and freezers. What we are missing however is adequate storage space.
In order to give us the rodent free food storage we need, the summer program students hauled a massive amount of dirt and gunk out of our basement in preparation to lay a concrete floor. On top of this floor will rest a 10’ X 16’ food storage room made from cinder block that houses not only purchased goods but root crops and our organic food products. Thanks to all the dirt haulers, all the cooks and especially Patty for participating in this exciting program.
