New Bike Track is Here!!

The Newfane High School has been working hard on getting the campus ready for the 2007-2008 school year. In order to increase community participation and raise our “FUN QUOTA” we have been preparing a BMX Bike Track.  We have been enjoying this new course which was designed by a team of staff and students that race and perform on various types of track. Thanks to Richard H. and Brian Blass!! We cleared brush and debris off an upper plateau to make space for the new course. The new course has a start box and obstacles like triple jumps, rhythm sections, and bank turns.  Only students 18 and older can operate heavy machinery so Zack F. used an excavator to reshape the land, create better drainage and develop a well sculpted course of tricks and advanced features. So far our course record for one lap is 26 seconds and the tricks over our largest jump keep getting bigger. (Go Nate, Richard, Justin and John!) The construction crew is almost finished building a bike storage space and the start box so we free up much needed shop space and can go even faster. Thanks to Earl, Sandy and all the vocational workers!
