Kindle Farm school year passes midway point

Kindle Farm is wrapping up our second quarter, marking the halfway point of the school year. The staff are busy finalizing grades and reviewing students' academic and behavioral goals. Additionally, we are in the process of creating the Therapeutic Recreation program for the upcoming third quarter.

In the third quarter, we are excited to offer some new activities, including First Aid & CPR, Blacksmithing, and Glassblowing.

As a behavior-oriented school, we believe in making credit-bearing classes a motivating factor for students to attend. Our approach involves creating relevant and enjoyable coursework that imparts new skills and makes our school a place where students truly want to be.

The third quarter will introduce our Immersion Days, where the entire school day is dedicated to immersive experiences. This takes place on nine consecutive Wednesdays, allowing students to delve into high-preference, student-chosen activities for a full 6 hours. Over 45 students have already signed up for programs such as the Stratton Mountain Ski Program, Wilderness Adventures, Culinary Skills, and Woodlot Management internships. These full days are a Kindle Farm School tradition, providing the space for developing deep passions and offering a break from the traditional 45-minute academic periods.

As the days lengthen, we eagerly anticipate the start of maple syrup season and look forward to getting into the greenhouse to plant seeds, hoping for another fun year on the school’s farm.
