Transitioning into fall, and soon to winter

As the fall brings on its attributes of change and celebration our Kindle Farm Community continues to embrace this time of year with abundance and excitement.  We are off to a great start and this school year is well underway. So many of the opportunities and programming that we offer are motivated and energized by the seasons and what our outdoor environment provides for us. There is so much fresh air to be had during this time of the school year for all us at Kindle Farm.

October invites and enriches our programming to get outside to explore our school property and the beautiful locations that are just a short distance away.  It is a daily occurrence to witness academic class and our therapeutic recreation out and about on the land and in the community.  Hikes to cool places, waterfalls, cliffs and caves, extreme mountain biking, flag football and seed to plate are just a few of the exciting activities that take place during this first quarter.

We had our annual Harvest Festival scheduled for on the November 14. This event is centered around the harvest from our gardens and the feast that is prepared from that.  The harvest also represents the efforts and achievement that have been produced from the hard work that each of our students and staff have put towards themselves and our community over this past year. This event brings our whole community together to celebrate with reflection, entertainment and activities.

October also holds 1½ days of in-service for our staff.  Our upcoming in-service includes a continuation of our ARC training with a focus on caregiver regulation, deepening our professional development in our understanding and delivery of literacy and therapeutic recreation and team building with one another.

We would also like to share a tremendous thank you to all those that helped with the coordination and preparation of this past month's HCRS Golf Outing.  For those of you that are not aware, Kindle Farm has received 100% of the funds raised by this event.  Our school is so fortunate to have the endless support from our larger agency to keep our programs healthy and running strong.

The presentation of our campuses speaks boldly for the overall experience that our students receive on a daily basis.  In a snap shot it is beautiful and welcoming.  From a longer observation you would see the minute interactions and attention that our staff provide for our students that creates the energetic beauty that our campuses radiate for all to receive. It is truly a gift to witness and be part of this work in the making. We all look forward to the continuation of this great start to the year.

All our best,
The Kindle Farm Administrative Team
