Preparing Students for a Culinary future

By Patrick Carroll

At Kindle Farm, we provide exceptional culinary internships for students who share a genuine passion for the culinary arts. Our program has consistently demonstrated that participants acquire highly marketable skills, surpassing those with years of traditional kitchen experience. Many of our students have successfully elevated their abilities, gaining access to coveted internships within the surrounding communities.

The positive feedback received from partnering establishments serves as a testament to the program's effectiveness and its significant impact on students' career goals. Beyond the internship initiatives, numerous students have independently leveraged the skills acquired in our program to secure employment.

Our comprehensive Culinary program extends beyond the kitchen, allowing students to participate in a statewide competition—the Jr Iron Chef competition organized by Vermont FEED. In this exciting event, students develop and refine recipes in accordance with competition guidelines, providing a unique experience that fosters a healthy sense of competition and teamwork. Kindle Farm students have previously triumphed in this competition, igniting a hunger for continued success.

As a classically trained chef, I bring extensive hands-on experience to the program. I am a proud graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, and have honed my skills in top-tier establishments, including one of New York City's premier restaurants and a high-end resort in New Mexico. My journey has afforded me the privilege of working alongside some of the country's most seasoned chefs, exposing me to diverse culinary methods and ingredients from various regions.

Drawing upon these rich experiences, I have meticulously crafted a truly unparalleled curriculum tailored specifically for the age group we serve. Kindle Farm's Culinary program aims not only to impart essential skills but also to inspire a lifelong love for the culinary arts and foster success in our students' future endeavors.
