Holiday Season Brings Many Opportunities for Strengthening Student Relationships

by Miriam Schuldenfrei

The days are short and the nights are long, but the Kindle Farm community is full of gratitude and celebration! On November 16th, we enjoyed a community meal for our annual Thanksgiving celebration, filling the Newbrook Firehouse with all of our students and staff. We ate food cooked by our school Chef with help from our students, along with dishes prepared from each homeroom. Students and staff had the opportunity to share about things we are grateful for, including:

"I am thankful for all my teachers and friends. I am thankful for food."

"I am grateful that Kindle Farm took me in and helped me when I felt alone and didn’t think I was gonna make it."

"I am thankful for Kindle Farm providing me with my best friends I never had before, and I’m grateful for all the amazing people Kindle Farm has brought into my life."

We know this can be a challenging time of year for many of us, and we are all grateful for the support of our Kindle Farm community. Our festivities continue with a Solstice Celebration on December 20th, where students and staff make cards, decorate cookies, sing carols around the fire, and more! We know that building community is a crucial part of establishing a successful learning environment, and at Kindle Farm it is a top priority. Thanks to all the Kindle farm staff and students for making this a festive time of year!
